We are deeply saddened by the passing of our former colleague and friend

John had a long career in the animal welfare sector and worked with us from 2001 – 2007 as the development director in the programmes department, overseeing our member society development and educational work.
He was responsible for managing the development of the first version of Concepts in Animal Welfare (CAW), an animal welfare syllabus for veterinary students, which we promoted in many countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Aside from working with us, John had a varied career with our fellow animal welfare organisations, Compassion in World Farming and RSPCA.
Through his passion, dedication and expertise, John not only improved the lives of countless animals around the world, but also touched and inspired all those who had the pleasure of working with him.
We send our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
