Help build a safe haven for orphaned bear cubs

Every bear that arrives at Libearty is given the chance to heal: to roam free in vast woodland and finally live as nature intended.

But right now, the sanctuary faces a critical challenge.

Hunting in Romania is leaving more cubs without their mothers

Romania’s 2026 hunting quota has nearly doubled, allowing 859 brown bears to be killed this year.

That means more cubs are left alone without protection, food or shelter.

For many, Libearty Bear Sanctuary is their only chance of survival.

But a new cub enclosure costs around £60,000, before rescue, treatment, or long-term care even begins.

With your support, we can be ready when the next cub is found.

What your gift makes possible

When the next cub is found, your support helps us act immediately.

  • £285 could provide essential veterinary care and medicine for a rescued bear for up to three months
  • £500 could help strengthen protective fencing, keeping vulnerable bears safe
  • £1,000 could provide nutritious food for a hungry bear for six weeks

Every gift helps give bears the safety, care and future they deserve. Will you help protect them today?

Please don’t wait, these cubs can’t.

Every minute counts. Together, we can save lives.
