#NoTanksTUI! Join us on our TUI City Break as we trade sightseeing to protest animal exploitation, as TUI can't hide from the European demand for ethical tourism.
Today, the 1st August 2024, World Animal Protection and a coalition of 14 organisations gather outside TUI's Berlin headquarters to demand the travel giant end its support for dolphin entertainment and other forms of wildlife exploitation.
This peaceful protest is crucial in our ongoing campaign to promote ethical tourism practices and protect wild animals from suffering.
The Problem: TUI's Support for Wildlife Exploitation
TUI Group, one of the world's largest travel companies, continues to offer and promote attractions that involve the captivity and exploitation of wild animals. These activities, which include dolphin shows, cause immense physical and psychological harm to the animals involved.
The plight of captive dolphins
Dolphins are among the most intelligent and powerful marine predators on the planet. In their natural environment, these incredible creatures navigate vast ocean expanses.
In contrast to their expansive ocean habitats, captive dolphins are restricted to tiny, barren concrete tanks or shallow sea pens. Their sentience is undeniable, and their suffering in captivity serves as a stark reminder of the ethical implications of wildlife entertainment.
Despite growing awareness and public outcry against such practices, TUI has yet to take meaningful action to address these concerns.

15 welfare organisations. 9 Countries. Representing 350,000.
Our protest in Berlin represents a powerful coalition of 15 NGOs, all united in calling on the travel giant TUI Group to cease the sale and promotion of captive dolphin entertainment venues.
Protesters are making their voices heard with a range of impactful demonstrations. They are holding placards and a giant banner showcasing the 350,000 petition signatures collected by the charities.
Additionally, LED scooters are displaying striking images of captive dolphins, but will TUI finally listen to the hundreds of thousands of voices demanding change?
Ethical Travel Choices: Who Will Make History?
We encourage everyone to consider more ethical travel options and support companies prioritising animal welfare. There are many making progress, but TUI is not the only laggard in the travel industry. World Animal Protection recently revealed that GetYourGuide is selling some of the world's cruelest attractions.
The question remains: Who will make history for all the wrong reasons? Which travel giant will be the last to adopt a suitable animal welfare policy. 👀
