Farming

Hi, I'm Emma, the european programmes director at World Animal Protection.

Animal welfare has always been my passion. Discovering you could work to improve the lives of animals as a profession was a revelation for me as a child. I have been a campaigner throughout my career, working on different issues and learning how to make change happen, before getting the break into animal welfare five years ago.

I believe all animals, regardless of species, should be free from suffering and be treated with compassion and respect. I am particularly interested in campaigns which support the less ‘charismatic’ species, or challenge suffering which is kept hidden. I am currently leading the development of our global chicken campaign, Change for chickens, which will transform the lives of billions of animals. In my spare time, I run the Wasp Appreciation Society.
